The Saskatchewan Pony of the Americas Club Inc. was established 2000 at a meeting held in Saskatoon. Since then our membership has grown and now includes members from Alberta and Manitoba. We have an Annual General Meeting every January, we also try to have 3 - 4 meetings a year depending on the goings on. Our meetings are informal and once the business is completed it’s time for everyone to swap stories.

The clubs’ purpose is for the promotion of POAs both provincially and nationally, with most of the emphasis provincially. It also gives POA owners an opportunity to create new friendships and visit with someone who has the same interests. Our membership includes people who are POA breeders as well as POA owners, in other words you don’t need to be a breeder to belong, you just have to believe in POAs and their value to the horse world.On the more technical side of the club we have from 6 - 10 directors whose terms are for two years. To hold an executive position you are required to be a director. We hold elections at our Annual General Meeting. The Saskatchewan Pony of the Americas Club Inc. is a registered non profit organization.Some of the more fun things the club offers its’ members are our Log programs. A Stable Log along with the Saddle/Driving Log. These are based on the number of hours you spend with your POA. Once you start to keep track of your time spent with your POA. You will be surprised at the amount of time you spend doing something you truly love. You don’t have to be a show person to take part in these programs, all you really need to be is someone who enjoys spending time with their POA. Some of the best times are spent with your horse friends.For the members who enjoy showing, we offer the Prairie Provinces High Point Awards and ROMs. This program is designed to add value to your horse. The ROMs ( Register of Merit ) go one step further and recognize the sires and dams of the top show horses.

The club also has a monthly newsletter that keeps everyone updated on any POA news. It includes a calendar of events and any deadlines pertaining to the Sask. POA Club.
